Do you have unused or old electronics taking up space?
Why not support the Framingham High Robotics Club and get rid of your old electronic items! On Saturday June 20th, we are having an Electronics Recycling Event at Framingham High School from 8 am to 2 pm on June 20th. For a fee, we will take your unwanted electronics and appliances in the main parking lot at the high school at 115 A Street. We will accept computers, monitors, microwaves, air conditioners and virtually all unwanted electronics will be collected, as well as white goods such as refrigerators and washers and large metal item such as file cabinets. Proceeds from disposal fees charged for each dropped-off item will benefit the robotics club.
The disposal fees charged range from $1 to $25 and are below what many towns charge for the proper disposal of electronics. Residents of all towns are welcome. Check out the full fee schedule below. You can even get a free t-shirt when you donate $50 in fees (while supplies last). All proceeds from this event will go to support the FHS Robotics teams.
Framingham High School Robotics is a very new but fast growing club. This year was only our second year in existence, and we have more than doubled in size! Our club participates in the VEX Robotics competition where we compete with other teams from the New England region and share our passion for engineering. We have had teams go all the way to the VEX Robotics World Championships for the past two years, but to continue our success, we need your support to help buy new parts and software.
All equipment collected will go to CRT Recycling Inc. of Brockton, a large recycling firm that either reuses or resells electronics, nearly eliminating landfill disposal of electronics. CRT Recycling will sanitize/erase or destroy all hard drives. Recycling unwanted electronics is a responsible thing to do and the only legal way to dispose of such items in Massachusetts.
No batteries or tires, please.
