Interesting Change in Programming Skills

This will affect you all.

Appendix D:

The Robot Skills Champion Award is presented to the team with the highest combined Programming and Driving Skills Challenge score. A team’s combined score will be determined by adding their highest Programming skills score and their highest Driving Skills score at a single competition. Teams competing in only one of the two skills challenges will receive a zero score in the challenge in which they did not participate.

Recycle and Help Robotics!

RECYCLING LOGODo you have unused or old electronics taking up space? Support the Framingham High Robotics Club and get rid of your old electronics! On Saturday June 18th from 9 am – 3 pm we will be at Framingham High School’s main parking at 115 A Street where, for a small fee, we will take your unwanted electronics and appliances. We will accept computers, monitors, microwaves, air conditioners and virtually all unwanted electronics, as well as white goods such as refrigerators and washers and large metal item such as file cabinets. Proceeds from disposal fees you pay will benefit the robotics club.

The disposal fees charged range from $1 to $25 and are below what many towns charge for the proper disposal of electronics. Residents of all towns are welcome. Check out the full fee schedule below. You can even get a free t-shirt when you donate $50 in fees (while supplies last). All proceeds from this event will go to support the FHS Robotics teams.

Framingham High School Robotics is a fast growing club that has had a great deal of success this year. We won several tournaments, including the Southern New England Regional Championship! For the third year in a row, we have had teams go all the way to the VEX Robotics World Championships. But as we grow, we need your support to help buy new parts, software and to travel to competitions.

All equipment collected will go to CRT Recycling Inc. of Brockton, a large recycling firm that either reuses or resells electronics, nearly eliminating landfill disposal of electronics. CRT Recycling will sanitize/erase or destroy all hard drives. Recycling unwanted electronics is a responsible thing to do and the only legal way to dispose of such items in Massachusetts.
