Free Robotics Movie Screening

FREE movie screening!

Monday, October 13, 2014, 4 pm – 5:30 pm (Columbus Day Holiday)

AMC Framingham, 22 Flutie Pass, Framingham, MA 01701

Underwater Dreams (underwaterdreamsfilm.com) is an epic story of how students from a Title I high school in Phoenix, Arizona learned how to build an underwater robot from Home Depot parts and defeat engineering powerhouse MIT in the process.

Over the summer, the Governor’s STEM Advisory Council presented Underwater Dreams, and it was so well received that the MassBioEd Foundation (massbioed.org) has decided to host a FREE screening of the film on Columbus Day.

Registration is not required and attendees will be admitted on a first- come, first-served basis. The theater has 200+ capacity, so the more, the merrier! Please arrive by 3:45pm.

Mr. Chesnais’ Advice on Drive Trains

From Mr. Chesnais:
If you are planning on competing, you should be researching different designs for your competition robots. The drive train is the most important element of your robot. To get started you can search on Youtube for instructional videos that other teams have posted. A good start to look at a solid chassis for the wheels and motors is linked to this post. There are many additional ideas you can research and adapt to your needs!
